I- Presentation
SMARTS SEGOU is a Malian organization (Ref.155-PCS) for the promotion of Arts and local products from Mali, based in Segou. It is specialized in the creation of by-products of the Festival sur le Niger made of cotton confectioned by artisans from Segou.
Smartsegou is exclusively for Malian artisans of all sectors.
Thus it valorizes cotton, arts works and crafts from Mali, and allows young talents to be promoted by disseminating their work.
Smartssegou is actively involved in sustaining producers, and in sensitizing the public opinion and lead campaigns in favor of change in the rules and practices of international conventional trade.
II - Our activities
- In order to promote visual art in Mali Smarts organizes each year in partnership with the Festival sur le Niger a national Art Contest on visual arts (plastic arts, sculpture, numerical arts, photography, art works).
- Creation of sample handbags and shirts made out of local material in cotton and “bogolan” (mud cloth).
- Promotion of arts and local products of Mali at different fairs.
- Support to the commercialization of by-products of the FSN.
II- The Target Market
Smarts intervenes essentially on the local market, but also on the international market through international fairs and festivals.
III- Our Products
Smarts commercializes essentially three types of products as well as accessories, including:
· Handbags (Women and Kits))
· Shirts (Men & Women in bogolan)
· Jewels (necklaces and earrings)
· Accessories (Bed spreads pillows, key holders and numerous by-products of the Festival sur le Niger).
